Michael Gusefski, MBA
Financial Advisor
As a Financial Advisor, Michael’s mission is to assist individuals, families and business owners in defining their financial goals and achieving financial freedom. He is trained and licensed to provide financial solutions to his clients and prospects. His goal is to become a lifelong resource to his clients, and he is dedicated to assisting them through the various stages of their financial lives.
Due to his association with Baystate Financial, Michael is able to utilize the team approach and draw upon the wealth of knowledge of his associates to create custom designed financial strategies for his clients. Michael has over two decades of strategic planning experience spanning multinational corporations, venture-backed startups, closely held corporations, and families.
In addition to Series 7 & 66 registrations, Michael holds a BS in Biochemistry and an MBA, both from North Carolina State University. Michael lives in Boston, MA, with his wife and their two sons. He enjoys many things in life, including but not limited to kayaking, cooking, championship duck boat parades, trumpet riffs, and repartee.

Herbert Daroff, J.D.*, CFP*, AEP*
Director of Estate and Business Planning
Herbert K. Daroff has been with Baystate Financial since 1996. He sees himself as a professional problem solver, educated as an engineer and attorney, and practicing as a Certified Financial Planner™ professional. Herb earned a B.S. in Commerce & Engineering from Drexel University in 1975 as well as a J.D.* from Temple University School of Law in 1979, where he was the Evening Division Class President.
Herb’s primary expertise is multi-generational tax planning and multi-generational creditor protection. He is a very active volunteer in his community and in financial services. His activities in these areas include: Leadership as past President of the Greater Boston Chapter of the International Association for Financial Planning (IAFP, now FPA, Financial Planning Association); Leadership as past President of the Boston Society of Financial Services Professionals Involvement as a former member of two national CFP® Board committees, Board of Practice Standards and Board of Professional Review Involvement as a former member of the national IAFP Ethics Committee; and Time spent as member of the adjunct faculty at Bentley University in Waltham, MA.
Herbert K. Daroff’s creativity, experience, and resourcefulness enable him to work very well with the public and their professional advisory team in order to implement solutions responsive to each client’s financial objectives.

Jason Bordeau
Agency Director - Advanced Markets
As Director of Advanced Markets with Baystate Financial, Jason M. Bourdeau works with high-net-worth families and closely held businesses in the areas of estate, charitable, business succession, and executive benefit planning. Clients appreciate his ability to simplify complex planning strategies into creative but straight forward solutions to their most pressing financial challenges.
Jason joined Baystate in 2018, bringing 23 years of insurance and financial services industry experience. Before joining Baystate, he held positions with several major insurance carriers, primarily focused on advanced planning strategies such as premium financing, private and business split dollar planning, non-qualified deferred compensation, executive bonus plans, and buy/sell planning.
Jason has earned a CLU and ChFC designations from The American College of Financial Services and holds FINRA Series 6, 7, 66 securities licenses as well as state insurance licenses. Jason graduated from Westfield State University with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice. He currently resides in Suffield, CT with his wife Melissa and two daughters.
Devon Black
Financial Planning Consultant
Devon Black began her career in 2013 with Baystate Financial. She has been with the Financial Planning Department since mid-2015. As a Financial Planning Consultant, Devon is responsible for overseeing the financial plan development process, ensuring recommended strategies meet a fiduciary standard of care for clients’ financial well-being.
The customized solutions within financial planning empower clients to make informed decisions. Strategies are focused around the six areas of financial planning, including Financial Position, Risk Management, Wealth Accumulation, Tax Planning, Retirement Planning, and Estate Planning.
Devon graduated in 2013 from Isenberg School of Management at UMass Amherst with a bachelor’s in finance with a risk management concentration. Also, she holds her Life/Health Licenses and Series 7 Registration.
She is a CFP® certificant and currently lives in Boston. In her free time, she enjoys kayaking, hiking, and being outdoors.
